Game Elements

For this blog post I have decided to carry out a critical analysis on one of the few games I have experience with. The Fifa Series.

Players: I firstly would describe Fifa as a Head to head type of play. In the game players can battle each other or against the system in a simulated game of football. They compete against each other for valuables such as in game credits, new players to add to their team or simply just for entertainment.

Objective: The game Fifa has multiple objectives: Firstly Territorial whilst playing a match against an opponent the players duel it out chasing a virtual ball around the field they have to try and score in the oppositions net and also defeat their own area also.

Collection: Whilst playing online players earn virtual money in the form of coins when they win a game. this money can build up to be spent on packs and other things that will help the progression of their team and make them stronger.

Build: Build and collection I think go hand in hand in a lot of cases The point of collection without reward seems pointless so this is where build comes into play. Players build their teams by adding new players, coaches , jerseys and many other variables to make their team as highly ranked and strong as it can be.

The Rules for Fifa are quite simple.

(Operational)

- Players : 2-4

-Setup: The players will play together/ or head to head to defeat their opponent in a game of football.

-Progression: pass the ball and make your way upfield then eventually take a shot for goal.

-Resolution: The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Resource management: at the start of the fifa game as soon as you start playing you have minimal resources. in other words a bad team. To improve your resources throughout the game you have to start winning and the more you win the greater the resources but also the harder it gets.

The Game state and information in Fifa I believe to be quite open. the player is able to see a lot of things he can do within the game but is not allowed to do all of these things until he's reached a certain level within the game.

Sequencing: Fifa Is a real time game. both players are live at all time and their reactions and responses to the game have immediate consequences.

Player  interaction within Fifa is very open. Players have the opportunity to speak with each other through a headset here they can discuss anything at all. Trade: players have options to trade players from team to team with other players or even offer a player as a wager to a game.

There isn't much of a backstory to this game. The team given to the player at the start of the games is of relatively low quality it is then the players job to progress their team and make it as good / highly ranked as possible.
